Top Romantic Spots in Devon

Wedding season is here! All the romance in the air is making us think of our top romantic spots in Devon, so we wanted to share them with you.

Our personalised wooden signs have been flying out of the studio recently to make wedding gifts. We've had requests for the names of places that are special to the bride and groom as well as coordinates of their wedding church, where they got engaged and also the coordinates of the new home a couple just bought - it's all so exciting!

If you're looking to spoil the one you love, or maybe you're on a minimoon in Devon, take a look at our round-up of the top romantic spots in Devon...

Haldon Belvedere, nr Exeter

This fairytale tower (from our blog photo above) sits high on a hill near Exeter and has incredible views over the countryside. It is occasionally open to the public on Sunday afternoons over the summer and also has a gorgeous holiday apartment inside that you can book for an extra special break.

Hartland Quay, North Devon

Windswept, dramatic and beautiful - the perfect spot for a sunset picnic, a romantic stroll or lunch in the cliff top pub just above the quay.

Exmoor National Park

Take a drive up on to Exmoor after dark for some romantic star gazing. Exmoor is Europe's first dark sky reserve and has some of the best dark skies in the UK. Follow the Exmoor Dark Sky Discovery Trail which is a 2 mile self-led route across the moor to evocative ruins, offering 360 degree views of the starlit sky and not a single artificial light in sight.

Valley of the Rocks, North Devon

This stunning section of coast never fails to take your breath away. Soaring cliffs, coastal views and a fantastic stretch of coast path to stroll along hand-in-hand. Afterward head into Lynton or Lynmouth and share a cream tea for two!

Dartmouth, South Devon

From taking a romantic steam train ride along the river, to a dolphin spotting boat trip, exploring a castle or just wandering along the quaint streets and finding somewhere for a quiet lunch for two, Dartmouth is a great spot for a weekend break or day out.
